Utility Assessments To Cost Morris County $78,000+
A Wednesday afternoon visit with Morris County Clerk Chelsey Schmidt was enlightening. Schmidt has learned that the June 2023 State of Kansas Utility Division assessments, which is what the county uses in setting the levies and tax rolls, is down $930,548 from November of 2022. The Utilities Division assesses the value of public utilities, including railroads, electricity, natural gas, liquid pipelines, and telecommunications.
GMDC To Receive $408,360 For Low-Income Housing Improvements
The 2023 Housing Summit, sponsored by Greater Morris County Development Corporation, was held at the Dealership Building, Thursday evening. The guest presenter was Ryan Vincent, Executive Director of Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC). KHRC, a subsidiary corporation of Kansas Development Finance Authority, which is a self-supporting, public corporation that administers programs to help Kansans access the safe, affordable housing they need and the dignity they deserve.
Wilsey Rural High School Annual Reunion
Wilsey Rural High School alumni meeting was held at the Wilsey Christian Church Wolgast Fellowship Room on Sunday May 28th with 81 alumni and guests in attendance. The school closed in 1968 to merge with USD 417.
