Farm Credit Services presented a check to Council Grove Fire Chief, Chris Blackledge to be used for the Council Grove Fire Department to purchase grain rescue equipment and tools.
The Flint Hills Junior High League Meet was held on Tuesday at Lyndon. The meet saw the 7th and 8th grade girls come out victorious and become league champions.
Council Grove is set to host the Regional Girls Softball Tournament, beginning on May 14. At 3 p.m., the number 4-seed Osage City will take on 5-seed Pomona-West Franklin, at 4:30 p.m.
A fire on Tuesday afternoon destroyed a home on the west side of Council Grove belonging to Frank and Kelly Hutchinson, leaving the family without a home and with few possessions.
