Plan provides tax rebates to commercial property owners
The 2025 Morris County Revitalization Plan, already approved by the County Commission and the USD 417 Board of Education, is now under consideration by the Council Grove City Council. The plan offers a five-year property tax rebate to owners of commercial property who construct new buildings or make qualifying improvements valued at $10,000 or more. Designed to encourage business development and economic growth, the program does not raise existing taxes but allows eligible participants to recoup a portion of the increased taxes resulting from a higher assessed value. If approved by the city, the unified plan would streamline the process across all local taxing entities.
