Kaw Mission Council Lecture Series is Sunday, July 20
The Sunday, July 20th Kaw Mission Council Lecture Series will be “Railroads Going West” presented by President Abraham Lincoln portrayed by John Voehl. The lecture will cover the development of railroads in Lincoln’s lifetime, landmark litigation, westward expansion, political intrigue with the Illinois Central, Rock Island and the transcontinental railroads.

City of Council Grove to remain Revenue Neutral
At its regular meeting Tuesday night, July 14, the Council Grove City Council began with the approval of the consent agenda, which included the minutes of the previous meeting, appropriations totaling $44,520.81, and two Council Grove City Lake lease transfers. The first transfer, B2—also known as 108 North Shore Drive, Council Grove— was approved for transfer from Charles Schram and Debra Schram to Kip and Micha Schmidt of Wichita. The second lease transfer, B20, was approved from Linda Joseph to Antler Ridge Trading Company, LLC, with Tyler Whitmore of Emporia listed as a member.

Farmers & Drovers Bank 12U C team claimed the Dickinson County League tournament championship Thursday night in Chapman, edging Geary County One with a dramatic 5-4 victory after rallying from behind.
