Area July 4th Festivities Planned To Celebrate Nation’s Independence

Local Independence Day celebrations are planned for Saturday, July 4, despite lingering concerns surrounding COVID-19. Some plans have been changed or altered to maintain social distancing, while still being able to celebrate the nation’s independence.

Festivities will be held at the following locations:

Council Grove’s celebration will be held at Bolton Soccer Complex on July 4th, beginning at 7 p.m. and will feature a live music from Max Byram and Ken England. The fireworks show, presented by Stars and Stripes Fireworks, will begin at 9:45 p.m. and will be choreographed to music. Earlier in the day, residents will have a chance to participate in the “Discover Council Grove History and Step Challenge,” sponsored by the Council Grove Recreation Department.
