The U.S. Senate on Wednesday passed a resolution seeking to end former President Donald Trump’s emergency declaration on fentanyl trafficking, which has served as the basis for imposing tariffs on Canadian imports.
A free Hooked Rug Exhibit will be held 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Old School Community Center, located at 518 3rd St. Cottonwood Falls, KS. The event will feature beautiful, original artwork, demonstrations that one can watch and refreshments, all provided by the KC Chapter of ATHA (Association of Traditional Hooking Artists).
Council Grove High School senior Brycen Palmquist finished his outstanding career with the Braves basketball team with one more honor. The 6-foot point/shooting guard was named to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association all-state second team in Class 3A.

Council Grove FBLA had a successful State Leadership Conference in Topeka from March 31 to April 1. Twelve students attended the State Conference, and six students qualified for the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA, this summer by placing in the Top four of their event. The students will have to choose one event to compete in at Nationals. Qualifying were Riley Forge, Casaiia Mullen, Landon Dody, Finn Gant, Brycen Palmquist and Daniel Most.
