Wilsey Rural High School alumni meeting was held at the Wilsey Christian Church Wolgast Fellowship Room on Sunday May 25, with 62 alumni and guests in attendance. The school closed in 1968 to merge with USD 417.

Ryan McDonald, a 51-year-old Council Grove businessman, has announced his candidacy for mayor in the upcoming city election. McDonald previously ran as a late write-in candidate two years ago, finishing a close second to current Mayor Debi Schwerdtfeger in a four-way race. With that experience behind him, McDonald said he remains motivated to bring stronger leadership and clearer communication to city government.
Taylor Adams, a lifelong Council Grove resident and graduate of Council Grove High School, has filed to run for City Council representing Ward 3. At age 39, Adams oversees the construction operations of his family business, Adams Homestore, a longstanding presence in the local business community.
