The Council Grove High School Braves varsity baseball team recorded a pair of decisive wins over the Northern Heights Wildcats varsity on Monday, sweeping the doubleheader by scores of 28-3 and 15-0.
The Council Grove Republican received statewide recognition Monday, earning 15 honors, including seven first-place awards, in the 2026 Awards of Excellence contest presented by the Kansas Press Association.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Smoky Hill Construction has started brick removal on Mackenzie Street (Highway 4) in White City. There will be no parking on Mackenzie Street between Grand and Main. Grand, Adolph and Main Streets will all be closed on the south side of Mackenzie Street. The north side of Mackenzie Street will remain open for east and west bound traffic.
