“On Golden Pond”...funny and touching
The Council Grove Community Theatre’s production of ‘On Golden Pond’ by Ernest Thompson offers local actors an opportunity to explore their life experiences through the art of acting. Director Lori May says “Community Theatre offers people an opportunity to step into other people’s lives. Theatre touches people’s lives, not just the audience but also everyone involved in the production. ‘On Golden Pond’ is one of those plays that everyone will find truth in. This play is touching the heart strings of all involved. As the director, I see the loving relationship of my mom and dad. They were married 64 years when my mom passed last summer. The elderly couple in ‘On Golden Pond’ are in a long and loving relationship experiencing their twilight years with an unbreakable bond, humor, and facing real life challenges I think the audience will really relate to. I have shed more than a few tears in rehearsals.”
