CGHS FBLA places 1st as team at WU conference

On January 28th, the Council Grove FBLA chapter had 22 students compete in the District VII FBLA conference at Washburn University. The local chapter had many students place in the Top 10 of their events, and Council Grove FBLA placed 1st as a team. Riley Forge was recognized for being a member of the Active Membership Advisory Committee (AMAC) and also for her 5th place in Sales Presentation at the National Conference last summer.

Hilltop director Lori Dornbusch retires after nearly 25 years

After nearly 25 years of service, Lori Dornbusch retired from the Herington Hilltop Community Center on Friday, January 30, 2026, closing a chapter that spanned decades of growth, adaptation, and steady leadership. Dornbusch’s departure comes just shy of the 25-year mark she would have reached in March, but her tenure leaves a lasting imprint on the senior center and the broader Herington community.
