Despite battling injuries throughout the 2025 season, the Chase County Bulldogs finished with a 4-5 record and qualified for the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year.
Head coach Derick Budke said the injuries forced a number of underclassmen into larger roles last season, giving those players valuable experience and helping build depth as the Bulldogs prepare for the 2026 season.
Among the key players returning are Austin Anderson and Maddox Beyer, who both had their 2025 seasons cut short by injuries. Anderson is expected to play a major role at running back, while Beyer returns as a receiving threat. Both are also expected to contribute defensively.
Competition is underway for the starting quarterback position. Vincent Hodges, Dominique Barrett and Clark Miller are competing for the job as the Bulldogs prepare for their season opener.
With a healthier roster and a number of experienced players returning, Chase County is looking to make another postseason appearance in 2026.
The Bulldogs will open the season at home Friday, Sept. 4, against Oxford.
